Yes, and the U.S. spends 16.6% of GDP on health care with dismal results.
It is not only health insurance that is the problem. The outrageous charges by health providers are also to blame. Health care reform should focus first on the high costs.
References :
Its funny that a country that claims life to be an inalienable right would allow Insurance Giants to continually make decisions about treatment that would cause someone to lose their life. Or that the poorest people are not even afforded this luxury.
I guess inalienable rights are just for the wealthy.
References :
Look in the real world.
Decode this lyrics " You'll see "
"You are not alone"
First?
National Identity?
Second?
Forgetting we only have to hands?
Third?
Creating false hopes?
Fourth?
Living on estimated income and not on fixed income.
Fifth getting caught in the bubble burst?
Living examples on why tribes of different community jump ship away from their home?
Failures of National Identity.
If it were successful why must they jump ship?
Simple common sense?
All the glory on hear-say of the dead mummy that never was and crumble into dust in time?
Luke 21.30-36

I feel for those people that are having to file for bankruptcy. I too have found myself with mounting medical bills due to an illness I had a few months ago that required three surgeries and a week in the hospital with medical insurance. There needs to be reforms, but universal health care is not the answer. People struggle to pay their bills now, how do you expect that to do that when their insurance rate is going to nearly double with universal healthcare. How will they afford food, clothing, shelter, their current bills, etc?
