Why is Obama and the government trying to rush this extremely expensive healthcare plan which will costs billions if not trillions, instead of focusing on several states that are going bankrupt like California which had to cut child welfare services of all things. Is there any sense at all in what the government is doing these days?
because the cost of health care is very expensive – and we all pick up the cost, through high health care premiums, either paid directly – or through the higher payroll costs of companies that produce goods and services. We also pick up costs of people who are uninsured and who get sick – and who don’t address minor health care problems until they become serious and hard to treat. Child welfare costs increase if the kids don’t have proper medical care and get sick.
Americans pay more to administer the private insurance system than citizens of other developed countries pay for their government health care.
California is a wealthy state. They can’t raise the revenue they need because of the tax amendment they voted for 30 years ago. I pay my fair share of taxes and don’t want them wasted, but I also realize that there is a cost to a civilized society – a lesson that Cali voters need to to learn.
