Helping you make smart bankruptcy decisions

after Chapter 7 bankruptcy what should we expect?

We just was discharged from a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The lawyer said they would look after our taxes for the next few years and our daughter's estate, wrongful death(very little money), they could take that. We are ok with it. Anything we have to be careful with besides getting back into debt. LOL?

You will have the lousiest credit possible for seven years, even after that people you wish to borrow money from will still be able to see you filed bankruptcy. You will likely see the question have you ever filed bankruptcy on any loan or mortgage you will apply for and checking yes is an almost certain no even after it comes off your credit report. This means you will only be able to deal with "special" loans and mortgage companies that specialize in people who have declared bankruptcy. This means high interest and fees. The list of negatives goes on. Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear. I never recommend bankruptcy. You have my sincerest wishes of best luck in dealing with this!
