what happens to your GM stocks after they file their Chapter 11?

I have GM stocks and I want to know what will happen to them when the company files its Chapter 11. Are they useless?

Yes they are useless. If you owned bonds on the other hand than you could have gotten something back. That's by the way how some Hedge Fund companies make money, by purchasing bonds of the company that's about to default or already defaulted at a deep discount.
