Bankruptcy laws

bankruptcy laws preclude families confronted with disater from starting fresh, but enable corporations to reorganize and unload pension plans and banks to entice even the mentally disabled into credit card debt. My understanding must be wrong. Right? But if I’m right, why haven’t the senators righted that wrong?
